Public education activities
- Coordinated corporate investment responsibility campaigns to Levi Strauss (1992) and Unocal (1994)
- Hosted slide show presentations (1992-1994: Bay Area Action Network-Palo Alto; Hall Middle School, Tiburon; Berkeley Peace and Justice Commission, Berkeley)
- Sponsored KPFA radio interviews of Faith Doherty/Amnesty International and Yuzanna Khin/Burmese student refugee, Berkeley (1994)
- Published article in San Jose Mercury News (1994)
- Co-hosted symposium of speakers on human rights (1995: Antioch College)
- Hosted a reception for Dr. Sein Win/Prime Minister of Burma as well as Bay Area nonprofit leaders and government officials (1995: Belvedere)
- Sponsored speaking engagements and radio interviews by Kevin Heppner/Karen Human Rights Group, Thailand, about his human rights abuse documentations in Burma (1995: SF Bay Area locations)
- Co-sponsored meeting of nonprofit groups from around the United States at the Burma Strategy Conference (1996: San Francisco)
- Co-sponsored the first Burma Film Festival (1997: UCLA. Films included Beyond Rangoon (John Booreman), Kings of Opium, Aung San Suu Kyi, Inside Burma: Land of Fear, Thailand’s Dilemma: Bordering on Tyranny, Burma Diary (Jeanne Hallacy))
Culture/arts activities
- Hosted dramatic performances by Yuzanna Khin/Burmese student refugee (1994: College of Marin, Kentfield; Potrero Hill Theatre, San Francisco)
- Provided fiscal sponsorship as non-profit administrator of two grants from Open Society Institute (George Soros’ foundation) for a film documentary (1996-1998: Burma Diary, by Jeanne Hallacy)
- Provided financial support to Kaowao Newsgroup’s Mon Cultural Center through annual grants from Marin Community Foundation (2005-2006)
Humanitarian assistance activities
- Coordinated/funded jointly with US physicians the delivery of medical/computer/clothing/telecom supplies by Sealand Group sea containers (via Port of Bangkok) as well as provided financial assistance via volunteer couriers for medical care training clinics along the Burma/Thailand border (1992-1994)
- Provided financial support to the Burmese Relief Centre, Thailand (1992-present)
- Co-sponsored with Tribal Refugee Welfare and Franklin Research & Development Corporation a family of Burmese refugees for successful resettlement to Australia (1996)
- Provided financial support to an elementary school/orphanage in rural Burma to build a single structure school facility and to pay $100 annual salaries of teachers (2001-2006)
