The mission of the Burma Foundation is to provide humanitarian assistance to people of Burma, especially children and refugees, educate the public about Burma’s human rights plight, and promote public interest in and the study of the cultures of Burma.
The Burma Foundation was established in 1992 and is a charitable organization exempt from federal and California income taxes as a public charity under IRC Section 501(c)(3). The Burma Foundation’s federal tax identification is 94-3153803.
The Burma Foundation is governed by a volunteer five-member board of directors, four of whom also serve as the officers - President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
